Action Alert-Contact Your State Representative
MTA has learned that the energy package approved in late June by the Senate is scheduled to be addressed today (Wednesday, July 23) by the House. The House has returned for a one day session to address the remaining budget bills but has apparently also decided to address the energy package. As approved by the Senate, a bill included in that package, SB 213, pre-empts local zoning for wind generation. MTA asks that you immediately contact your state Representative and ask him or her to vote against SB 213! This legislation allows the Public Service Commission to pre-empt local zoning.
