Tax Collecting 101: A Guide for Treasurers and Deputies
This November, MTA is offering a full-day workshop to help newly elected treasurers prepare for the tax collection season. Participants will learn the basic tax collection process—from the assessment roll to settlement with the county treasurer. Seasoned experts will explain the duties involved at each point during the collection process and help identify deadlines, statutory procedures, practical tips and resources for the tax cycle.

Township Governance Academy Brings Learning to a New Level
The Township Governance Academy (TGA) is a voluntary credentialing program intended to give township board members and other local leaders the knowledge and skills needed to make effective decisions for the benefit of their township. The Academy offers new ideas, shares “best practices” in township government and provides a hands-on approach to help you deal more effectively with everyday issues that your board faces.
