Gaines Charter Township is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Treasurer. This is a full-time position offering a competitive starting wage of $22.00 – $26.00 per hour, and a generous benefit package.
The right candidate will possess a minimum of three years of accounting, bookkeeping, or cash handling experience; a professional demeanor; a precise attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; problem solving abilities; the ability to prioritize assigned work and be able to pass a full background check and be bonded.
Duties include, but are not limited to, performing property tax accounting to support all tax department operations, receive and track all daily revenue coming into the Township, prepare and balance daily bank deposits, support the receptionist in answering phones and greeting Township visitors, and assist with bank reconciliations.
