Cole-Crocker elected secretary of Michigan Townships Association

Buchanan Charter Township (Berrien Co.) Supervisor Malinda Cole-Crocker has been elected secretary of the Michigan Townships Association. Cole-Crocker, who also serves at MTA District 22 director on the Association’s Board of Directors, was elected to the secretary position at MTA’s 2023 Annual Educational Conference, held April 17-20 at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme Township.

Cole-Crocker first joined the board in 2017, representing MTA District 22, which encompasses Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties.

Her efforts serving in a leadership role on both the executive committee and MTA Board ultimately benefit her community as well.

“Serving as Buchanan Charter Township supervisor is one of my greatest challenges and one of my ultimate rewards,” Cole-Crocker said. “My role in MTA also teaches me to be a stronger leader and advocate for township government.”

Cole-Crocker began serving local government when she was appointed supervisor in 2014. She is also a board member and finance committee chair of the Southeast Berrien County Landfill Authority, as well as a board member of the Country Heritage Credit Union.

Cole-Crocker’s dedication to serving her community drove her to graduate from MTA’s Township Governance Academy in 2016. She is also a Michigan advanced assessing officer.
