Short-term rental bill reported from committee to full Senate

The incredibly harmful House Bill 4722, which would eliminate local zoning authority over short-term rentals in your communities, has been reported from committee and is before the full Senate.

We need ALL officials to contact their state senator to ask them to oppose this detrimental legislation, which creates a one-size-fits all approach to short-term rentals. Many communities across the state have worked hard to enact measures balancing the needs of long-term residents and those of vacationers, as well as ensuring affordable housing—HB 4722 eliminates township authority to do so.

This decision should be LOCAL and not a one-size-fits-all approach prescribed by the state. What’s more–we fear if this bill passes, it could only be the beginning of attempts to usurp local zoning and local control. Keep reaching out to your senators and ask them to oppose this bill. YOUR VOICE MATTERS and MAKES A DIFFERENCE! Read more about the bill in our recent Action Alert (https://conta.cc/3CejASA) , and please contact your senator today and ask them to stand with local communities and vote NO on HB 4722.
