It’s Time to recognize the people who make a difference in our townships every day—honoring those who embrace challenges, create positive change, and serve their community with vision, innovation and commitment to service. Sound like someone in your townships? It’s Time to nominate them for the “Spirit of MTA” award! 

This annual award was created to recognize township leaders who defend and advance the best interests of their township and townships as a whole—as the Association has done on behalf of Michigan’s 1,240 townships for nearly 75 years. We’ll honor the award recipient at our Annual Educational Conference in April 2027. Our Annual Conference theme of “It’s Time” signifies the importance of this moment for townships in leading communities  and our state to success, and nominations should highlight how the nominee’s public service reflects these efforts. It’s Time to celebrate service. It’s Time to recognize dedication. It’s Time to honor those who make a difference.

Nominations are due January 4.
