It is with great sorrow that we share the unexpected passing of 2025 MTA President Harold Koviak. Harold was an immensely dedicated public servant, serving Burt Township(Cheboygan Co.) for nearly 30 years, as supervisor since 2002, as well as zoning administrator for seven years and two years as trustee. He first joined the MTA Board in 2013 when he was elected District 5 director, representing Charlevoix, Cheboygan and Emmet Counties until his election as president this April.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Harold’s beloved daughters Jeni and Missy and grandson Greyson, his family and his community during this time. We are immensely grateful for Harold’s leadership and friendship, and his invaluable role in helping to shape the Association, his township and all Michigan townships.
