Beeson elected second vice president of Michigan Townships Association

Pine River Township (Gratiot Co.) Supervisor Kevin Beeson has been elected second vice president of the Michigan Townships Association (MTA). He was elected to the leadership position for the state’s largest municipal association by his township peers at MTA’s 2024 Annual Educational Conference & Expo, held April 22-25 at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme Township.

Beeson has been a member of the MTA Board since 2014. He also serves as director of MTA District 16, which encompasses Montcalm, Gratiot and Ionia Counties.

“I’m excited to serve in a role to help lead this important organization, working with friends and colleagues from around the state,” Beeson said. “Together, we can continue to provide economic opportunities throughout Michigan, and improve job growth and quality of life for our communities and residents.”

Beeson was first elected township supervisor in 2004. He was chair of the township planning commission from 1994 to 2003 before he was appointed as a township trustee in 2003. He also served as the chair of the Gratiot County MTA Chapter from 2006 to 2012.
