Cole-Crocker elected treasurer of Michigan Townships Association

Buchanan Charter Township (Berrien Co.) Supervisor Malinda Cole-Crocker has been elected treasurer of the Michigan Townships Association. Cole-Crocker was elected to the position by her township peers at MTA’s 2024 Annual Educational Conference & Expo, held April 22-25 at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme Township.

Cole-Crocker first joined the MTA Board of Directors in 2017, representing MTA District 22, which encompasses Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties. She has been township supervisor since 2014.

Her efforts serving in a leadership role on both the executive committee and MTA Board ultimately benefit her community as well.

“Serving as Buchanan Charter Township supervisor is one of my greatest challenges and one of my ultimate rewards,” Cole-Crocker said. “My role in MTA also teaches me to be a stronger leader and advocate for township government.”

A Michigan advanced assessing officer, Cole-Crocker is president of the Berrien County Assessor Association. She is a graduate of MTA’s Township Governance Academy, and also serves as a board member and finance committee chair of the Southeast Berrien County Landfill Authority and as vice chair on the County Heritage Credit Union board.
