[Hidden block] When it comes to your township roles and responsibilities, no one understands better than Michigan Townships Association. That’s why we’ve created our unique Professional Development Retreats, offering two full days of intensive learning targeting the challenges (and opportunities!) you face while providing the information you need to succeed. Whether you have two years of experience, or 22 years, you can’t afford to miss these intensive learning (and networking!) events designed specifically for your role as a township official.
Each event is packed with informative sessions featuring topics tailored to your roles. We offer one for each office – clerk, treasurer, supervisor and trustee – and your township’s entire planning and zoning team.
During Sept and Oct 2025, MTA’s Professional Development Retreats at the Bavarian Inn Lodge offered training that covered a wide variety of topics, teaching valuable skills to township officials from across the state.
Retreat attendees gained knowledge and perspective on numerous issues, with each retreat tailored to their role in the township. Networking opportunities such as meals and evening social events provided the chance to connect with fellow officials, to meet with vendors of popular products and services specific to townships, and to glean more insights from the municipal experts who taught each session.
Professional Development Retreats will return fall 2027, so stay tuned for details and registration.
