Macomb Township (Macomb Co.), one of Michigan’s fastest growing communities, is seeking a seasoned and certified professional to serve as its next Building Official. The township’s ideal candidate will have experience in planning, zoning, construction, inspections, and plan review along with strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in construction management or architecture preferred.
- Seven (7) years of recent full-time experience including a combination of building construction, planning, zoning, inspection and plan review, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Strong management and leadership skills with at least three (3) years of full-time supervisory experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
- Must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License in good standing. Must hold a Building Official, Plan Examiner and Inspector Registration as designated by the State of Michigan.
