Golden Township treasurer continues to serve on MTA Executive Committee

Golden Township (Oceana Co.) Treasurer Connie Cargill will continue to help lead the Michigan Townships Association (MTA) by serving on its executive committee as immediate past president. Cargill, who was 2024 MTA president, will continue in her role for 2026, following the unexpected passing of 2025 MTA President Harold Koviak last fall. Serving more than 99% of Michigan’s 1,240 townships—which includes more than 6,500 elected leaders plus tens of thousands of additional township appointed officials, staff and volunteers, MTA is the largest municipal association in the state and one of the largest in the nation.

Cargill, who has served as township treasurer since 1995, was first elected to the MTA Board of Directors in 2012.

“I am happy to continue serving on the executive committee and helping to guide the future of this great organization,” Cargill said.

Cargill previously served as township deputy treasurer and is retired from the Oceana County Drain Office. She is currently chair of a five-county regional materials management planning commission, member of the Oceana County Land Bank Authority Board of Directors, and treasurer of the Oceana County MTA Chapter. Cargill also serves on the Silver Lake and Lake Holiday Improvement Boards, and as a board member of the Oceana Agricultural Society.
