Michigan Townships Association announces 2026 Executive Committee

Kevin Beeson, supervisor of Pine River Township (Gratiot Co.), has been elected 2026 president of the Michigan Townships Association (MTA). Beeson was elected president of the state’s largest municipal association at MTA’s Annual Educational Conference & Expo, held last week at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme Township (Grand Traverse Co.). Beeson previously served as interim MTA president following the unexpected passing of MTA’s 2025 President Harold Koviak last fall.

Beeson, who has been township supervisor since 2004, was first elected to the MTA Board of Directors in 2014. Prior to becoming MTA president, he served director of MTA District 16, which encompasses Ionia, Gratiot and Montcalm Counties. Beeson served as township trustee for a year before becoming supervisor, and was the township’s planning commission chair for nine years. He is treasurer of Greater Gratiot Development, Inc. and served as the MTA representative on the Michigan Fire Fighters Training Council.

Joining Beeson on the MTA Executive Committee are: Malinda Cole-Crocker, Buchanan Charter Township (Berrien Co.) supervisor, as first vice president; Marvin Radtke Jr., Green Lake Township (Grand Traverse Co.) supervisor, as second vice president; Glenn Rowley, Bangor Charter Township (Bay Co.) supervisor, as treasurer; Matt Beattie, Boon Township (Wexford Co.) supervisor, as secretary; and Jennifer Hodges, Muskegon Charter Township (Muskegon Co.) supervisor, as member-at-large. 2024 MTA President Connie Cargill, Golden Township (Oceana Co.) treasurer, will continue to serve on the executive committee as immediate past president.

The MTA Executive Committee, along with the entire MTA Board of Directors, meets numerous times throughout the year, and adopts strategic policies that guide the Association’s operations to best serve Michigan’s 1,240 townships.
