East Bay Charter Township (Grand Traverse Co.) is hiring a Director of Planning and Zoning. The Director of Planning and Zoning is responsible for leading East Bay Township’s Planning and Zoning Department. The Director supervises department staff, including the Zoning Administrator and Projects Coordinator, and provides professional planning support to the Township Board, Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Corridor Improvement Authority. The role oversees land use planning, development review, zoning administration and enforcement, and special projects. The Director also coordinates with consultants and regional partners on transportation and trail connections, the US 31 Beach District Corridor Improvement Authority, and Redevelopment Ready Communities efforts. Current AICP certification, a bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field, and at least three years of experience are required, a master’s degree and management experience are preferred. This is a full-time position on a four-day work week, with an annual salary range of $85,000–$105,000 and a competitive benefits package. The position is open until filled.
