Funding for 18 township projects, included in 75 projects recommended by the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Board, received initial legislative approval this week. Senate Bill 829, sponsored by Sen. John Cherry (D-Flint), provides $45 million in matching funds for 15 land acquisition projects and 60 land development projects across the state. The bill passed the Senate Appropriations Committee and now awaits a vote by the full Senate.
