Cole-Crocker named member-at-large on Michigan Townships Association Executive Committee

Buchanan Township (Berrien Co.) Supervisor Malinda Cole-Crocker has been named member at-large on the Michigan Townships Association (MTA) Executive Committee. The Executive Committee, and the entire Board of Directors, provides strategic and operational guidance to MTA, which serves more than 99% of Michigan’s townships and is the state’s largest municipal organization.

In addition to her role on the Association’s Executive Committee, Cole-Crocker will continue to serve as MTA District 22 director, which encompasses Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties. She was re-elected to the position at MTA’s 2022 Annual Conference, held April 25-28 in Lansing. She first joined the MTA Board in 2017.

Her efforts serving in a leadership role on both the executive committee and MTA Board ultimately benefit her community as well.

“Serving as Buchanan Township supervisor is one of my greatest challenges and one of my ultimate rewards,” Cole-Crocker said. “My role in MTA also teaches me to be a stronger leader and advocate for township government.”

Cole-Crocker began serving local government when she was appointed supervisor in 2014. She is also a board member and finance committee chair of the Southeast Berrien County Landfill Authority, as well as a board member of the Country Heritage Credit Union.

Cole-Crocker’s dedication to serving her community drove her to graduate from MTA’s Township Governance Academy in 2016. She is also a Michigan advanced assessing officer.
