Delta Charter Township, Mich.—Whitney Township (Arenac Co.) Clerk Kimberly Anderson will continue to serve the Michigan Townships Association (MTA) Board of Directors, after being re-elected to serve as the MTA District 10 director, which includes Arenac, Iosco, Ogemaw and Roscommon Counties. Anderson was re-elected to the position by her peers at a caucus election held at the Association’s Annual Conference, held March 31-April 3 in Grand Rapids.
In her leadership role serving the state’s largest municipal government organization, she hopes to continue to connect with member officials and help the Association—and townships—grow and thrive. “Townships are the closest branch of government to the people, and I will work to ensure their respect and to help fend off legislative threats to local control,” Anderson said.
Anderson was elected Whitney Township clerk in 2012, and is vice president of the Arenac County MTA Chapter. She says serving her township’s residents and helping to improve the community are among her most rewarding experiences in local government.
