Rogers re-elected to Michigan Townships Association Board of Directors

Coldwater Township (Branch Co.) Supervisor Donald Rogers will continue to serve on the Michigan Townships Association (MTA) Board of Directors, after being re-elected to the position of MTA District 23 director at the Association’s Annual Educational Conference & Expo, held earlier this month in Grand Rapids. Rogers has served as director of District 23, which encompasses Branch, Calhoun and St. Joseph Counties, since 2013.

Rogers has served on the Coldwater Township Board for 35 years, and was first elected as trustee in 1988. He was elected treasurer in 2000, and has been township supervisor since 2014. He has served on the state Local Community Stabilization Authority since his appointment by Gov. Snyder in 2014, and serves as the authority’s treasurer. In 2013, he received a special Service Award for outstanding service to the Michigan Municipal Treasurers Association.

Rogers says that intergovernmental cooperation with neighboring City of Coldwater, helping to bring growth and prosperity to the area, has been among his most rewarding experiences in local government. He brings that passion for public service and collaboration to his role serving officials in his MTA district and on the MTA Board. “Being involved in local government is very rewarding,” he said. “Having the ability to provide for our residents a safe and family-friendly atmosphere through our parks and services is what grassroots government is all about. I will continue this endeavor, as a local government official and through my involvement as an MTA Board member, to provide the best possible assistance to my district as well as the residents of Coldwater Township.”
