Comstock Charter Township (Kalamazoo Co.) Treasurer Bret Padgett has been re-elected as District 19 director on the Michigan Townships Association Board of Directors. Padgett was elected to the position by his township peers at MTA’s 2022 Annual Educational Conference, held April 25-28 in Lansing.
As director of MTA District 19, which encompasses Allegan, Barry and Kalamazoo Counties, Padgett helps to represent township government on the statewide board—as he has represented his residents since first being elected township treasurer in 2012.
“It is very rewarding to serve my constituents, and to do the same, on a larger scale, as part of the MTA Board,” Padgett said.
Padgett first joined the MTA Board in 2019. He has served the Kalamazoo County MTA Chapter as a trustee and treasurer. His board experience also extends beyond local government, as he’s sat on the Public Media Network board of directors since 2012 and has served on the Michigan Municipal Treasurers Association board of directors since 2019.
